Carter Burgess (a.k.a. Col. Carter Burgess, Jr.) is a character from Species II.
Species II[]
Carter Burgess is a Colonel who heads a team of scientists, led by Dr. Laura Baker. They have created a more-docile clone of Sil, named Eve, in an effort to understand the alien lifeforms and prepare for defense, should they ever return to Earth in the future.
After Dr. Orinsky was killed and alien DNA was found in the wounds, the generals told Burgess to get Preston Lennox involved, as he had prior experience. Carter Burgess personally went to recruit Preston, and managed to convince him to hunt the alien again. Burgess then escorted Preston to the research facility, and broke the rule to keep Eve away from males. Burgess was present when Dennis Gamble was tested, which when cleared, confirmed Patrick Ross to be the alien. Burgess was informed that Eve could be used to track Patrick, which he then authorized and made an order to be followed. Carter Burgess visited Judson Ross and offered him a deal to take care of Patrick without any press being involved. Judson was not alright with the government killing his son, and told him off. When Eve escaped, Carter Burgess kept an eye on the events in the helicopter. He was also contacted by General Metzger, who ordered him to observe, and let Preston deal with the problem.
Novelization[]
In the Novelization, he is killed off during an attempt to kill Lennox and is killed by one of Patrick's remaining offspring who pulled him into it's cocoon when his back was turned and slaughtered him within the cocoon before it died.
