Erland Naylor is a main character in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th issue of Species: Human Race comic.
Biography[]
Dr. Erland Naylor is colleagues with Xavier Fitch, but he doesn't respect Fitch and thinks him to be an incompetent fool.
He has spent two years on the job concerning about the aliens, when he learns that Duburke Chemicals has obtained the information needed to create the hybrids using the alien DNA. Erland invited Alanna Walker to assist him in tracking down the hybrid Kal that had escaped Duburke Chemicals a week earlier. Erland also hopes for a promotion, but all the people he has worked with previously have gotten the credit instead of him, this makes him dismissive of the newer recruits. They follow a series of stolen cars, and end up near one burning. Alanna saves Erland from the explosion when he got too close to the burning wreck. After following another stolen car, they manage to save Tina Hart from being raped by Kal. Erland shoots Kal several times, but he manages to escape, jumping off a cliff.
Erland later works with Dr. Jean Louis Diana, who investigates the bodies left behind by Kal. Erland seems to have an ulterior motive, though, as he keeps asking if the sperm they found inside one of the victims is still viable.
