The Goo Species is an alien source of genetic material left behind on Mars after the planet's desolation.
Biography[]
The alien DNA had survived on the barren planet of Mars for an unknown period of time. It was drilled out with a rock sample machine from a Rover by Patrick Ross, and brought aboard the Excursion. There, the temperature of the shuttle caused the soil sample to be thawed out, reviving the alien DNA and forcing its way out of the sample container, where it then attacked the unsuspecting crew and merged with them.
Dennis Gamble's genetic flaws made him an unsuitable host for the alien DNA, while it made Anne the carrier of its latent, hostile lifeform. The symbiote successfully merged with Patrick, transforming the astronaut into a hybrid sexual predator driven to reproduce and cause human extinction.
